In the eastern Netherlands, we are in the process of transforming 5 hectares of agricultural land into a new estate with new nature and a spacious estate house. The new nature compensates for the construction of this estate house. An extensive analysis of the existing flora and fauna and the potential increase in biodiversity, as well as the connection to the cultural-historical context, underpin this transformation.

The house is made up of different parts that are placed around a central courtyard. There's a clear separation between private areas and more accessible areas. The house has basements that are provided with daylight through a folded ground level. Clear sightlines in the interior are continued in the exterior through the clean lines of the roof edges and canopies, giving the whole a modern look. Large windows are used to create a connection with the surrounding nature.

The natural stone skirting boards and terraces are combined with sleek stucco, wooden facade sections, and a thatched roof. These contrasting materials combine to give the villa its characteristic appearance. The warm materials ensure that the villa blends in beautifully with its natural surroundings. The villa will be built to be nature-inclusive, sustainable, and energy-efficient.
