MODULAR HOUSES MADE OF WOOD

BREEBRONNE | MAASBREE | CIRCULAR CONSTRUCTION | BIOBASED | WOOD CONSTRUCTION

A beautiful biobased villa has been built at the Breebronne holiday park in Maasbree using an innovative circular modular construction system made of wood. The project was designed and built using the 'MDLX Modular Building System', a wooden construction system co-developed by us. The design strikes a balance between aesthetics, technology, function, and cost. As a result, the whole is not only beautiful but also completely circular, adaptable, and relocatable, constructed from highly durable wood.

The fully industrially prefabricated wooden construction system of this house combines high-quality architecture with flexibility and adaptability through the use of a unique patented 'plug & play' hybrid base frame made of laminated FSC-certified beech wood. Separate elements can be used to construct a wide variety of buildings. Components can be easily assembled, but can also be disassembled and reused. This allows the building to scale to meet changing needs without waste.

The modular construction system is developed to be fully circular and is completely energy neutral. Reusable, circular materials with a low environmental impact and actual CO2 storage in the wood of the building are used in the construction. Solar panels will also be installed on the roof. The building will be constructed using a smart combination of prefabricated wooden elements. The prefab elements will be assembled on the site of the house. Thanks to this industrial prefabrication and a lightweight, movable foundation, the impact on the location will be minimal and noise pollution, waste streams, and construction time will be limited.

While the exterior is characterized by sustainable and natural materials, the home is also energy efficient and virtually energy neutral. The interior has a luxurious finish with the wooden support structure exposed. Interior walls and ceilings are also made of wood, combined with rich materials such as marble and leather wall coverings.

The villa features technically sophisticated detailing and finishes that complement the spatial design. The use of extensive glazing in combination with spacious canopies creates an open and transparent look with beautiful covered outdoor areas.

The closed facade sections are clad with silver-gray wooden facade sections, which means that the house requires less cooling in the summer. The tangible use of sustainable materials gives the villa a contemporary, robust appearance. The house is entirely on one level and equipped with a ramp, making it wheelchair accessible.

A striking eye-catcher is the wooden terrace with a modular, extendable awning that spans the entire width of the building. An architectural statement with ecological significance. The sophisticated details, open layouts, and large glass facades give this innovative biobased villa a timeless and beautiful appearance.
